About Flour Bird Bakery

My Philosophy

Flour Bird Bakery specializes in producing artisanal, naturally leavened sourdough bread and baked goods crafted from premium, fresh ingredients. My quest goes beyond just baking; I believe our food should look as good as it tastes. By prioritizing the use of locally sourced ingredients from small businesses, I delight in wowing customers with every delectable masterpiece I create.

My Journey

I have always been a creator of food and have always dabbled in the art of food. I've been a home cook, did catering and custom cake creations, been a chef in a lovely little senior living community and even worked as a pastry/prep chef at an upscale restaurant. It was during the pandemic, however, when I began experimenting with sourdough bread that I discovered a deep love for the art as well as the challenge of creating naturally leavened baked goods. 


Crafting unique recipes, I shared my creations with friends and neighbors. The idea of turning this passion into a business only came to me after meeting a bakery owner in 2023. She said to me what I already really understood, our community needed a local source for quality sourdough breads. This chance meeting sparked the creation of Flour Bird Bakery. 


Currently I'm working out of a commissary kitchen in Stanwood and do not have a brick & mortar store front. During the summer months you can find me on most Friday afternoons at our local Farmer's Market. The off season I am now offering a Bread Club that will launch in October 2024

The Process

I am wholly committed to every stage of the baking process, meticulously executing tasks such as slicing, mixing, and baking. Making it the standard that every item that leaves the bakery is of the highest quality.


I use locally grown grains from the Pacific Northwest, milled in nearby Burlington, in my bread and baked goods. I am dedicated to sourcing fresh, local ingredients whenever possible. My menu rotates with the seasons, always including the classics year-round.
